Hotels.com UK is the accommodation specialist within the same group as Expedia, and the narrower focus shows: no flights or packages, just a deep list of places to stay — chain and independent hotels, apartments, B&Bs, guesthouses, hostels and holiday rentals, in the UK and worldwide. VIP Access properties are a useful filter to know about, flagging places that have scored well on guest reviews and add perks such as room upgrades or early check-in for eligible members.
Like its sister site, Hotels.com is effectively code-less. The long-running stamp scheme — collect ten nights, get one reward night — was retired in 2023 and folded into One Key, the shared loyalty programme, so savings now arrive as member prices applied automatically once you sign in, plus OneKeyCash earned on eligible bookings that you can spend on a future stay.
Sale activity clusters around the January period, the run-up to summer, and Black Friday and Cyber Monday, when member discounts on selected properties are typically at their largest. Outside those windows, the reliable savings are structural rather than promotional: shoulder-season dates, Sunday-to-Thursday stays, and booking a little further ahead in high-demand cities.
A few things worth checking before you book. Free cancellation is available on most rooms but not all, and the cheapest rate on a listing is often the non-refundable one, so read the rate conditions rather than the headline price. Filter by total price including taxes and fees where you can, and check whether breakfast, parking or a resort fee is included — those extras move the real cost of a stay more than most discounts do.
