Match the code to the model, not the basket. The sitewide percentage codes are the smallest ones — mid-single-digit reductions that apply to anything. The larger percentages are pegged to specific machines or to a product family such as hoverboards, and on a £200–£700 machine — the band most adult models sit in at time of writing — the model-specific code is usually worth considerably more. Check whether the machine you want has one before defaulting to the sitewide option.

Fixed-amount codes beat percentages at the top of the range. There are also fixed money-off codes gated on a minimum order value. On a lower-priced kids' scooter a percentage wins; on an off-road adult machine, a fixed amount tied to a spending threshold you were going to cross anyway is often the better of the two. Do the arithmetic on your actual basket rather than assuming the bigger-looking number wins.

Only one code applies per order. As with almost every retailer of this type, codes are not designed to stack, so pick the single strongest one for the basket you have built. Apply it at checkout before completing the order — a code entered afterwards cannot normally be honoured retrospectively.

Where You Can Actually Ride It

Privately owned electric scooters cannot legally be used in public in Great Britain. GOV.UK's guidance states that you may only ride a privately owned electric scooter on private land with the landowner's permission, and that riding one in public — on pavements, on roads or in parks — is illegal. That applies to a machine you have bought, regardless of its specification or price. The rental e-scooters visible in some towns and cities operate under separate government trials and are not the same thing.

To its credit, iHoverboard states this restriction on its own website rather than leaving buyers to discover it. Self-balancing hoverboards sit in the same practical position: they are off-road products, and should be bought on that basis. If you have nowhere private to ride, the machine is an expensive ornament — check that first, not last.

Electric bikes are a genuinely different legal category. An electrically assisted pedal cycle, or EAPC, can be ridden on roads and cycle paths in Great Britain without a licence, tax or insurance, provided it meets the conditions GOV.UK sets out: pedals that propel it, a motor with a continuous rated power output of no more than 250 watts, and assistance that cuts out above 15.5 mph. Riders must be 14 or over, and pavements are still off-limits.

That distinction matters when reading a product listing, because several of the machines in this range are advertised at outputs far above 250 watts — those are scooters, not EAPCs. Check the stated continuous rated power and the assistance cut-off on the specific model you are considering against the current GOV.UK rules rather than assuming any product filed under "electric bike" qualifies.

The entry point to the range, starting under £90 for a 6.5-inch board at time of writing and rising through Bluetooth-equipped and larger off-road models with bigger tyres. Hoverkarts — seated frames that attach to a board — are sold as an add-on and are a common second purchase for younger riders. Board sizes are not interchangeable, so check compatibility before adding one.

Electric Scooters

Compare stated battery capacity and range across models rather than motor wattage alone — wattage tells you about acceleration and hill-climbing, capacity tells you how far you get before recharging.

Electric Bikes

A smaller but distinct line covering step-through, folding and mountain-style frames. This is the only part of the range that can be ridden on a public road, provided the specific model meets the EAPC conditions above. Read the specification carefully rather than the marketing.

Walking Pads and Folding Treadmills

An adjacent category that has grown across the market: compact, low-profile treadmills designed to fold away, some with incline. They start around £107 at time of writing and are aimed at home use in small spaces rather than at replacing a gym machine. Check the stated load capacity and belt dimensions, which vary noticeably between models at similar prices.

Chargers, batteries, controllers, dashboards, motor wheels, brake levers, tyres, inner tubes, throttles and fenders, catalogued by the model they fit. Helmets, locks, phone mounts and storage bags round it out. This is the part of the range worth knowing about even if you bought your machine elsewhere in the same brand family.

When to Shop for the Best iHoverboard Deals

Late spring and early summer is when this category promotes hardest. Personal electric transport is a fair-weather purchase, and the sale activity follows demand — the strongest sitewide offers in this market tend to cluster from May through August.
